Ujjaini is a well  known  historical  religious  and one  of  the  oldest  city in
India. This city is now well known as Ujjain. Jain religion has been  deeply
entrusted in roots of the city which is well mentioned in old books of Hindu
religion.

Acharya Gunbhadra swami wrote that Lord Mahavira after “renouncement”
come to Ujjain  and  took solace  in a  funural ground named Atimutak and
went in a deep meditation .A  domicile  devil  named  stadnurudra  started
creating  a  lot of  obstacles  in  the  meditation  of  the  lord  but  in  vain
and finally he  surrendered  and  bowed  down  to  the  lord’s  feet.  In  the
rememberance of this episode this temple named“Shree Mahavir Tapobhumi”
is being constructed.

There are lot many saintly stories/episode connected with religious city of
Ujjain and  to  he  particula site where  the  temple  is  being  constructed.
King  of  Kakandi,  Abhayghosh become  a  muni  here  and  in  deep
meditation attained the solace in heaven.
