Muni Tarunsagar's health running in danger!!

Aug 2007 - Kolhapur, Maharastra:
Rastra Sant Muni Tarunsagar's health is under critical condition. A team of expert doctors have inspected the health of Tarunsagar. A conclusive report from these experts is expected to be out on 5th Sept 2007.

Based on the above health test report of doctors, Tarunsagars future course of life will be decided. There is a strong speculation that Muni Tarunsagar will be accepting Sallekhana / Samadhimaran at the top of hill kunthalgiri, Maharastra (also the place where Acharya Shantisagara took his last breath). Probably the act of accepting Sallekhana will be performed after the Kolhapur Chaturmas.

Even though he has not formally declared anything openly about accepting Sallekhana, sources too close to him indicate that he is mentally prepared to take the last breath on top of hill Kuntalgiri.

Update on the Health of Muni Tarunsagar

Sept 2007 - Kolhapur, Maharastra:
Doctor's initial analysis report as expected on Sept 5th is out. Results are as follows:

Root Cause:

Extensive white patches are found on the Cerebellum of Muni Tarunsagar. (Cerebellum is a region of the brain that plays an important role in the integration of sensory perception and motor output. Many neural pathways link the cerebellum with the motor cortex

-which sends information to the muscles causing them to move-and the spinocerebellar tract-which provides feedback on the position of the body in space (proprioception). The cerebellum integrates these pathways, using the constant feedback on body position to fine-tune motor movements.)

These white patches which were initially found during the health checkup in Mangalore (Feb 2007), seems to have extended in size.

Possible treatment:

Another expert doctor is expected to fly from Mumbai to Kolhapur on this Sunday(9th Sept 2007). He will be expressing his opinion about the requirement of a surgery and the need of hospitalization. The possibilities of curing this problem without surgery are also being intensively investigated.

Tarunsagar's opinion: ***

As per the close sources to Tarunsagar, He is most likely to express his willingness to get hospitalized and undergo a surgery (if it is needed). His decision will be formally out on this Sunday after the expert doctor's comment. Sources indicate that he is most likely to express his willingness to get hospitalized.

Digambar munis in Tumkur, Karnataka. They were also hospitalized as they had come across a road accident. Those Muni's came out of monk hood prior to getting hospitalized. But they were reluctant to wear clothes. They just consumed food more than once in a day. Medicines were also taken at regular interval. After getting discharged from the hospital, monk hood was reinitiated to them at Sravanabelagola.

This may be also the case with Muni Tarunsagar. He may just accept food and medicine more than once in a day. I am not absolutely sure about how a monk should live in these conditions...
